Sign of the Times - Rethinking the "Elderly People" Road Sign
“Who are you calling old? Let’s ditch ageist stereotypes”
Here is a great initiative from NB Studio, London: to lobby the UK’s Department for Transport into changing the sign for "Elderly people".
To raise further awareness and get unique approaches and results, they launched a competition and ask designers worldwide to participate. The team at Rice Creative where I currently work from in Vietnam, has been producing some really exciting solutions themselves. Proof once again of the power of design for social change and how geography is becoming irrelevant nowadays!
Very much looking forward to see the real-life implications of such a project, and hoping that next time I drive on the "wrong side" of the road in the UK, I'll at least get the sign for "elderly people" right!
